May means the start of fetes

You can tell when summer begins in earnest around here because all the
fetes kick off. Reading are quite good about this - there's always a
children's week which tends to start with a fair in a nearby park. Cue
lots of free activities for children. Thank goodness Izzy is slightly
outgrowing face painting. Queueing up for this balloon alone took
about half an hour!
