Baby says wa-wa-wa
Alex was trying to get her to say 'papa' tonight. For some reason she went 'Aahhhhh' and then put her hand over her mouth, as if to blow him flying kisses. (Though her flying kisses are always inverted: instead of throwing a kiss, she tends to smack her mouth enthusiastically with her hand and then reluctantly release it.) She realised an 'Ah-ah' sound came out and before you knew it was going 'Waa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa' which made the two of us howl. So of course we did it back to her. And before long all three of us were looking at each other, all yowling 'Waa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa'. 'WAAA-WA-WA-WA-WA-WA!'

After that she had a good five or ten minutes crawling between our legs, up and down the bedroom, shrieking with laughter before finally collapsing on the mattress to sleep.

Good times.

Baby eats more blackberries
They aren't the first she's eaten, I've let her try them from the brambles on the work grounds before but she only had the one, rather tart berry. Today, having nothing else to do at lunchtime, I took a bowl and went and collected a good handful. Gave them to baby in the car in lieu of biscuits.

I think she likes them. They were all pretty ripe and therefore were sweet and soft. She popped one into her mouth, looked quite pleased and immediately reached for another. And another. And another. Until she hit what must have been a slightly less ripe one. Because she made a funny face. And then every berry after that she bit into first, before allowing it into her mouth whole. Her lips and fingers were all purple when we'd done and fortunately she'd only very slightly stained her new, pretty pink shirt.
